I am really getting fed up with the constant attacks on Coles and Woolworths about supplying so much non Australian made products. The best attack is the misguided attack on Aldi; it is in the Aldi terms of trade that they must provide at least 60% Australian made product! (don’t quote me on that figure, but it certainly is at least 60%). OK, we all know that Coles and Woolworths provide a bucket load of overseas imported product, and why not? YOU buy it don’t you? So why shoot the messenger? Anyway, that was not at all the reason for this post.
So whats my point? Many of the public seem to have a strong opinion about buying Australian made products; which is great, i am all for it! BUT why the heck do you ALL holiday overseas on cheap deals to third world countries? Then have the cheek to attack the corporates of Australia by providing a product that you want? See the irony people!
I hear it all the time, on Television, radio, Facebook, Twitter, etc etc. “Buy Australian made” Well like I said, and I want to be clear so there is no confusion of my view, I agree, BUY Australian made products, but please remember travel is also a product, so PLEASE buy Australian travel products! Its the right thing to do; isn’t it?
But you wont, you will still travel overseas, and I cant blame you. But if you do your travel overseas then maybe quieten down about buying Australian made products, because you are only being a hypocrite. See my point.
In short, buy Australian made in all areas of your consumerism, not just your biased, selective choices. 🙂
OK, gripe over. 🙂
