A perfect family holiday on the Gold Coast;
A few weeks ago Kerri and I had the pleasure of a site visit to a magnificent 3 bedroom unit in the famous, Aztec inspired, Mantra Sun City Gold Coast.
As we arrived; of course the sun was shining and it was a perfect windless 28 degrees; we were greeted by this amazing Aztec inspired unique complex. Mantra Sun City is like no other that we have seen before, and that is what truly appealed to us; these days holiday apartments have become so pedestrian and boring it was great to see something a little bit out there with personality and character. Sun City resembles something off the set of “The Mummy” or some other exotic Egyptian film set, and this was an amazing first impression.
Although the external paintwork could do with a touch up (and we are told on good authority that Mantra Sun City body corporate are about to get started on exactly that, the uniqueness of the design far out-shadowed any apparent aging in appearance.
As we entered the undercover, locked car-park it was evident immediately that this was a complex with all the bells and whistles a family would want for an amazing holiday experience. Its the next best thing to a fully blown resort. Not only do you have the convenience of fully self contained apartments, but you also have all the added benefits of a complete resort complex with numerous dining opportunities including Sayas Restaurant, a gym, numerous swimming pools (including great water slides) and “calmer therapies” day spa.
Mantra Sun City Gold Coast really does opitimize the ideal family holiday apartment complex. Its totally unique character really makes this place shine above many other stock standard holiday apartments that litter the Goldie.
The only negative, and its hard to find, to Mantra Sun City (which incidentally applies to almost all managed holiday complexes in Queensland these days) is that all of the apartments have different decor and furniture depending n the individuals owners taste, and these owners rarely take advice from resort managers who strive relentlessly for product consistency. So you just need to be a little cautious that what you see on the Internet is not what you may expect to get when you arrive. This is an issue that covers all complexes and as the resorts get older the changes become more obvious. That said, they do need to comply with star ratings, unless individually managed of course.
But to summarize, its hard to go past Mantra Sun City on the Gold Coast for a great family holiday; only a block from the beach, amazing views (out of the vast majority of apartments) and a small stroll to all that the Gold Coast is famous for! So put this place on your list of holiday locations!
Oh, and don’t forget, the Gold Coast has so much to offer the action packed family holiday! Theme parks, amazing beaches, great restaurants, an ideal climate all year round and its not expensive or difficult to get to, so be sure to go to, or back to Australia’s 6th largest city, The Gold Coast, or Goldie as its referred to by locals.
